(More customer reviews)Unfortunately, the shades on the two lamps that we ordered were darker than illustrated. As the alabaster is quite thick, it provided very little light, even with a 100W bulb. In addition, one of the two lamps was assembled incorrectly, so that we couldn't put it together without re-wiring the lamp.
On the bright side, the pole and base were quite nice, with a very heavy brass base so that I think it would have been difficult for children to tip over.
