(More customer reviews)I ordered this lamp about a year ago and it was nearly half this price. I've even seen it in a Samuel L, Jackson movie lol. I was very very please when I unpacked this lamp. The shade has nice embroidery of the same color so it lends it some extra character without being too bold to take away from the curled metal look of the base. I've gotten so many compliments on it. My only regret is I didn't buy more than one. I had gotten it for my entry way table but that didn't work out as this lamp is very tall and the shade was too big for my space. It is quite sturdy and very unique. The shade seems very durable as I had it in my kitchen for a little while and it got something splashed on it. It cleaned up very nicely with some mild castile soap and warm water.

You can't go wrong with this lamp for a fun, unique, whimsical look for any room.

-shade casts a warm, beautiful light

Cons:
-cheaply made, with many flaws in the finish.At their best they look a little rustic.At their worst, they look like the tiny chips, dings, scratches, and imperfections that they are.
-cheap parts around the decorative swirl are loose and will rattle around when you move the lamp -- I expected better for this price.
-Shade has a spray-painted finish; it is not colored glass.
-cord is very short; no idea where a normal-height human would mount the dimmer switch so that it would actually be useful.

I don't feel like I got a very good deal on this lamp. I would have rated it lower except that considering how hard I had to look just to find a design I liked that didn't cost more than my car payment, I'm not too dissatisfied with what I wound up with.It does look really beautiful once you position it just right so that most of the flaws are at the back.But for what I paid, especially given that this lamp is advertised as having a suggested retail price over $200, I found the quality very disappointing.

(More customer reviews)I bought this to use instead of a floor lamp because I just think floor laps look awkward and top heavy.I wanted this to go behind my couch that I have angled in a corner.I didn't read the dimensions, but this is MUCH SMALLER than it looks in the picture.I ended up using it on a sofa table to accent some framed pictures that I have.It also gets VERY HOT - so I am afraid to leave it on long.I only flip it on when I have company.I was very happy with the price, this was the least expensive that I could find it - but not sure it is still worth it.As an accent light, very nice.As a light for lighting a room - not so good.

It's gorgeous--rectangular pieces of slate tile placed all over the base, and a shade that's wonderfully rich and warm with flecks of fiber running through. The base looks homemade, but not in a grade school way. The shade curves in a wave, which makes it hard to butt the lamp up against a wall (not that you would, but still...)

Overall very nice, but not the size for a bedside table. Definitely needs a lot of space.

(More customer reviews)First, let me start by saying I was excited to receive this lamp.I thought it would be cool, hip, and look fabulous in my new living room.However, that excitement quickly turned to disappointment as I started to assemble it ... and yes, it was exactly according to the directions given.Not to mention, if you look at it the wrong way, it scratches very easily.Also, good luck trying to put the base on ... if you don't experience total frustration, I will be surprised.Also, if you haven't scratched it up thus far, you will now.Once I stood it up vertically, it looks nice but don't touch it unless you have to.It's very wobbly.Yey.Not worth the $150.00 but maybe just $.50.Ugh.

(More customer reviews)This floor lamp design was what I've been searching out for upwards of 3 years: graceful contemporary style, brown hardware with linen-like beige shades.The lamp I received had all the right elements, and all parts were present except light bulbs (not included with the purchase).

But a crucial part arrived broken, for two reasons.First, the original factory packing box was the shipping box - which was inadequate.While all parts were pretty well protected inside, the contents were not impact-proof.And the box had come from China, via Mississippi and Kentucky. The second cause of problems was that the materials used were shoddy.One of the brown plastic bulb holders had completely sheared off.This was the only part broken, but it was critical for the whole lamp.The bulb base was fixed to its metal support bracket and was neither to be glued, nor removed and replaced with something easily obtained at a hardware store.

I sent it back for a refund.While the style was perfect for my taste, the construction quality would appall anyone who wanted a safe electrical item.

(More customer reviews)I bought these lamps several months ago.For the price, I was half-expecting three wobbly lamps.So I was quite pleased to receive, instead, a set of sturdy, stylish lamps.They are made in China, so while I can't comment on the material content, I can report that the lamps were carefully wrapped and meticulously packaged--there was not so much as a wrinkle on a lamp shade, and the lamps themselves were in perfect condition.As I am not particularly good at DIY projects, I was happy that the lamps were already prewired, with all of the parts in place.It only required screwing the linked pieces together, a task that even I could handle easily.

Each lamp uses two light bulbs of up to 100 watts each, giving plenty of light for reading.They don't take three-way bulbs, but the dual pull chains give you an option for how much light you use.They also accomodate the spiral, "greener" light bulbs without browning the shades.As I have said, these lamps are sturdy, and the bronze finish is attractive and glossy.

After three months of daily use, these lamps look as good as the day I unpacked them.The only "flaw" that I have found is that one of my cats thinks the pull chains are cat toys, and so occasionally he manages to turn on a lamp in the middle of the night.And I don't suppose I can really blame that on the manufacturer or amazon.com!

The bottom line is, this is an attractive and sturdy set of lamps, and an excellent value.I highly recommend them.

Kenroy Home 20812BS Reeler Adjustable Floor Lamp

(More customer reviews)I really wanted to like this lamp. The material is nice and feels well built; good quality and looks good. However, the design is not very versatile. The arm only allows it to bend backwards and forwards, but there is no adjustment to the height. At the lowest point, the arm is 90 degrees. In a living room setting, we had trouble placing the lamp, if you would sit on the couch the light bulb would be exposed and be uncomfortable to look at.
I think it would be best used as something that sits behind you, over the shoulder, or in profile only. We had to return the lamp because of it's lack of versatility.

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased the Kenroy Home 307420RB Plateau Floor Lamp. It is one of the most beautiful lamps I've ever seen. Has a good weight to it and I think it will last for many many years. It seems a bit shorter than most floor lamps but it fits into my room perfectly. I also ordered the matching table lamp and wasn't as happy with that purchase because the metal was welded poorly making the lamp look lop-sided.
