It's a great little toy, fun to completely change the mood/color of a room by selecting a different color on the color wheel. It's interactive and fun. Only downsides are that the pre-installed color loop moves way too quickly between colors, and that you cant pre-program your own sets of color shifts. Also, of course, it's sad that only the mini version is available in the US, the larger version has been selling in Europe since '07...

(More customer reviews)It's a lamp I'd recommend to everyone. As far as being eye candy, It looks ultra-expensive and I recieve tons of compliments on it. Although I consider it an artpiece in itself, it's not overwhelmingly artsy so there's virtually nowhere it would look out of place except maybe in a countryside themed home. The dimming feature is the greatest...you slide a bar at the base near where's the plugged in and although such halogen can be overwhelming, you can find a range anywhere from major floodlight power to cozy intimacy.

Replacement bulbs can be easily found at a Home Improvement store

(More customer reviews)I've gone through too many desk lamps looking for one that's just right. If I had hair, I'd be like Goldilocks looking for the perfect fit.
For me this lamp is a perfect combination of illuminatin and style. The six inch base doesn't take up a lot of room and the lamp shade is adjustable by the flexible gooseneck.

I don't want a lamp that lights the whole room; I've got a floor lamp for that. The Globe desk lamp illuminates a large enough concentrated area to light my large desk calendar and keyboard; it makes reading in that limited area comfortable.

The cord is not very long, but reaches far enough for my needs. If you need a six foot cord, you'll need an extension.
The on/off switch is on the cord, about a foot from the lamp base. Depending on placement, this could be a problem in some applications.
Replacing the special fluorescent bulb with built in ballast could be a problem. I haven't seen bulbs like this in stores, but they are available on Amazon. If you buy this lamp, you'd be wise to buy an extra bulb at the same time.

I use thes lamp daily and am pleased with my purchase.

(More customer reviews)I have to start by saying that I do really like the look and styling of this lamp.However, there are a few critical flaws that make it way over-priced.It assembles easily and has a nice modern, clean look.I ordered the WARM light but it is not warm (It looks like light in a hospital operating room.Maybe their idea of warm is not the same as mine!)and it is not powerful enough.I expected, with the 4, not 5, options for lighting intensity (I guess the 5th intensity is 'off.') that it would be bright enough to light my bedroom.But, even though the lights are LED, they are not bright even at the highest setting.A lesser problem, but still a flaw, is that the connection for the plug is 3" up the leg.Why is the connection not on the base or better, under the base?For such a modern lamp, they could have put the connection, in an out-of-the-way place, instead of a very visible place.At the end of the day, I will keep the lamp, but I will not be ordering a 2nd one, or a table-top one, unless the price goes to about $80, which would be a fare price for this lamp.

Around six months after purchase this lamp stopped functioning.Light output is about 1/10 the normal amount and it does NOT respond to touch.So, it's either on or off all the time (however it happens to feel).Which makes it worthless and is heading for the trash shortly.Learned that the warranty is an abyssmal 90 days!This is a ridiculously short warranty for an item (i) that uses LED technology which is supposed to last several years; and (ii) that has no moving parts.I can't think of a single electronics item that is even remotely similar that doesn't have at least a one-year (parts) warrantly.This is disgraceful.Do yourself a favor and learn from my mistake ... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS JUNK!ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW (HAD GIVEN IT *** THREE STARS)

When I read that this lamp includes "a super-bright LED bubble" I assumed it would easily outshine a 10W incandescent bulb ... I was wrong. Although admittedly attractive (and, frankly, the only reason I'm not returning it), it's incapable, in my view, of providing sufficient illumination to work at a desk.For the price paid I could have purchased something a lot more functional.Buy this lamp because you simply love how it looks (not because you need light at your desk to work by).Otherwise, I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

(More customer reviews)When you buy a cheap lighting product, you pretty much expect something to be wrong with it out of the box. This one, though, takes the cake. First, it buzzes loudly whenever turned on. Second, the stand is made of a flimsy quasi-tinfoil material that wobbles and seems unable to support its own weight. It's been three days since we've had it, and it's already bowed. Third, the cans which hold the lightbulbs are horribly flimsy plastique and don't correctly align with the bulb-stands. The joint-grooves of the cans are somehow already stripped, causing one of the three lights to point limply at the ground.

So, we bought junk knowing it was junk. But somehow, this remarkable confluence of such multiple levels of shoddy craftsmanship still managed to surprise us. Possibly the worst product ever constructed by sober or at least light-responsive vertabrates.
